Words I Say Poem by Amber Green

This advice doesn't work but, these words I say
To one of my best friends every day.
'Get over him and move on,

you have to realize he's gone.
You can't act like nothing's wrong.
Stop pretending to be strong

They don't love you but it's okay.
Just think of me everyday.
Think of what good friends we are,

Remember that before you go so far.'
These words keep her alive with me.
They make her live, just to see.

She fights her way to make me smile,
But I know it'll only last a little while.
Some new guy will break her heart,

And she'll tell me how he ripped her apart.
She'll cry to me if I am here,
and that's why I must stay, to soothe her tear.
