Worldly Affairs Poem by Dorsey Baker

Worldly Affairs

We are suffering
from the sickness
of a broken down
mental state
comes from
living in a world
much too full
of hate
too much pleasure
causes too much pain
when will you come
to the conclusion
that you must be
born again
its useless
to complain

run in the sun
sweat in the summer heat
don't eat red meat
come into the church
find a seat
sit down
you'll hear the angels sing!
you'll hear
the trumpet sound!
