Wounded Eden Poem by Zakir Hussain Haidary

Wounded Eden

Rating: 5.0

Uproar of bullets and pellets
Have ailed the vale.
Hazy smoke of the legion
Carried the Sun away.
Some died, some besieged,
In the valley of the Lord.

Emir of the caravan,
Retold the bygone tale;
And went into the light, now;
O' guardian of the paradise
Come back, come back to watch
Your fleet is drowning in the sea of red.

Demeaned like a slave
Of the colonial past.
Rooted up their heart
From the deep bosom.
Treating like an alien,
In this world within a world.
Enough is done, but think nothing done.

Leaves of the Aspen fell
Before the autumn came.
Bullets showered like the acid-rain.
The authorities still silent!
It conveys what?
Is ignorance, arrogance or something else?

An insightful depiction of man inhumanity to man - mere anarchy loosened upon the children of God. Thanks for sharing Zakir.
