Wounded Egos Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Wounded Egos

On the back of hope,
Rides...
An ignorance to prevent.
But yet faith kept is pushed aside.
Not allow to represent.
What it is people claim they have the most.
Saddled up and tight they can't let go,
Relying on ignorance.
Saddled up and tight they can't let go,
Relying on a pettiness...
To rule their attitudes.
With fault to accuse and blame,
On those who use their faith.
And not limit to ego!

Wounded are those exposing,
Narcissistic egos.
Wounded are those who claim a faith,
And hope.
But they don't.
Although they will take the reigns,
If this brings to them fame...
To brand their names.

Wounded are those exposing,
Narcissistic egos.
Wounded are those who claim a faith...
But don't.
Yet...
Will ride high on a hope,
Exposing motive.
High on the back of hope to promote,
Ego!
