By the stream, a child lights a fire
and the water boils, steaming.
The women do laundry, clear energy
fills the air when they're laughing.
With torn leaves, a plantain is casting
the deep and dark shadows, and is swaying,
While ducks swim quietly together,
the joy of spring they are adding.
