(Writing Letter) - Poem by Kumarmani Mahakul

Poet's Notes about The Poem

This poem is written in Odia language. Here poet realizes him as a soul and thinks that he is writing a letter to father of heaven in tear of eyes. Here poet conveys worries of not getting him birth after birth. He expects that knowing soft mind, father will definitely give wisdom. He is acting here in the world and poet says, 'I know this drama is based on my own action as performed in past or present. Still I am writing this letter giving much love and I hope oh dear father you will read this giving love and affection. I am writing this letter keeping my mind in you. Oh dear super father, you are super soul. You are God. You are only my own and rest of the things in this Earth change frequently. With you my tie is eternal. Nature has given me flesh and blood. This body is mortal and it merges in soil. I know that I am not a body but a soul. My journey prolongs for eternal and infinite time. I am writing this letter to you with deep affection and emotion and I hope you will come forward to read this. I hope you will never avoid and come near me. Oh dear father, I hope you will read my letter.' This is the theme of this poem in nutshell. This is written in Deogarh, Odisha, India and dedicated to the people of the world.

    O great soul,
You indeed reach to your goal.

    Your falling drop of tear,
    In my love and fear.

    Bear evidences of devotion,
    And your resolution.

I know you and you know me,
    So just relaxed and free.

    I don't entertain drama,
    And superficial trauma.

    For I am the truth,
    The first and final truth.

    l read before you write,
    I write before you act.

Your duty, to be on my tracks.
My duty, to test you by providing cracks.
