Written In The Stars Part 2 Poem by Paula Glynn

Written In The Stars Part 2

This life is written in the stars,
Just as any horoscope prediction that could be written,
The Space Station sets out on its mission,
Navigating its crew to the mystery of the universe,
And I suppose my life is like that:
A mission that has to be carried out,
Mysteries that have to be discovered and explored,
And a world of people to be celebrated and enjoyed,
For the unique gift of life has been seen,
DNA is a miracle, so why make anyone suffer?
All are born equal, all should be free,
Yet freedom is not something that can be guaranteed,
Still, it is like pouring sugar into a tank:
It will stop the engine, that will sputter and die,
As the morning turns to night and people cry,
For many tragedies hit this world,
Yet many have dreams that need to be fulfilled,
Dreams of reaching to the stars:
Stars that twinkle in the skies at night,
For the universe has shown itself,
And there are many who live on this earth in material wealth,
And those who dream of nothing except unity and love,
People who board those airplanes and fly,
For science is a gift and has advanced society,
We have so much: computers and mircowaves,
Trains, cars, the microchip and transistors,
And three thousand years ago, this was all an imagined dream,
Yet today we are living it as a reality,
We are not short of money in this modern world,
But it should be shared out equally,
Where no one is better than another,
Where we all join together and celebrate this life,
For life may be short but it is written in the stars.
