X-Rays Can't See Her Broken Heart Poem by Spock the Vegan

X-Rays Can't See Her Broken Heart

Rating: 5.0

When her son was in trouble she could feel it in her heart.
Her heart was hurting when her daughter got ready to depart.

When her husband had a stroke she had felt it for some time.
In fact for about two weeks, though he was in his prime.

When the grandkids were naughty the hurting came back.
When a son lost his job, her heart was not on track

When someone told a lie about her, the heart misfired.
And after heart surgery she was extremely tired.

X-rays didn't find anything - it was an electric short.
The doctor did an ablation, and the problem he did thwart.

But sometimes when things go wrong the heart skips a beat.
That makes me think the treatment was not quite complete.

She's always helping people, always doing her best.
If the stress keeps up the Lord may take her to His rest.

Many times medical science can find nothing wrong, but there are people who can always tell something is amiss. Poem is very well done. Reminds me of the guy who had the following engraved on his headstone: See? I told you I was sick.

Thanks much Kim. My wife is certainly one of those. Your headstone poems are very good.

That's a sad poem, but emotional topics make good poetry. Well done!

She had felt it for some time. There are those that pour their heart and soul into trying to keep the ship afloat. Great but sad truths.
