This is a well-constructed tanka; images as: innocence, joy of life, purity of spirit, are artistically blended within it. Love it.
An innocent smile on a disabled boy's face gives us the message that one can be happy despite all deficiencies and deformities of the body....! True happiness comes from inside and it doesn't have much to do with physical perfection, but on attitude and perceptions on life!
