Yesterday Poem by Spiritwind Wood

I felt you inside of me
and you gave me a reason to believe
you opened my eyes to see
and set my soul free

I thought love could never be found
until you came around
yesterday was only a memory
forgotten in a time I couldn't stay
then you came my way
now I never want you leave

We both been through this pain
felt tears of yesterday
on your lips that I tasted
standing alone in the falling rain
both knowing what it was to feel
yesterday and it's the sorrow
left with the tears of tomorrow
not remembering what was real

So we walked on alone
both with a heart of stone
only to live in a broken home
walls built between us
unable to love and trust
then you found me here
feeling the same way
both wanting promises that was once spoken
looking for the tears that was wasted
that both have let fallen
you were reaching for me
as I reached for you
with a love that was new
