Yet Poem by Adams King

Yet

Many moons melt and mourned
Same as the sun shone and subsided
Many memories made and marred
By the burning bitterness beneath my breast

Sleepless I sorrow day and night
Restless from dreams I dreamt
Irresistible illusions recurring round and round
Like a path obtainable but obscure

I dreamt we held hands together
And walked down the road with smiles
I saw you face from a clearer view
That perfect beauty I know you for

If beauty was life you would be here
To wipe this tear off my eyes
To keep warm from the cold sorrow
Which I feel deep inside

Yet, days are quickly approached
I watch the counting clock
Waiting for you to come
And to have my dreams come true

I peep through the windows
Anxious of every footstep I hear
I lay sleepless awake at night
Hoping to see you visit

Yet the night melts to dawn
And dawn to dusk
Waiting becomes endless and endless becomes my waiting

Echoes of your voice torments me
And I hunger to see you
But I realize you are gone
Never to be seen by mortal eyes

Sleep my dear, sleep silent as night
Sleep in the bosom of peace
No memories in grave they say
But we shall keep yours in heart.
