You And I

Pitter and patter the rain falls,
On the window panes of our house.
The chills and damp are but oblivious
To us, sitting with each other.
The swing sways gently
But time stands still.
Looking into each others eyes
Whispering sweet nothings.
The clap of thunder and the blaze of lightning
Is nothing compared
To the beating of our hearts
And the glow in your eyes.
The house grows dark
As evening turns to night.
But we don’t know darkness
Because of the light which
We see in each others smiles.
Wish that such moments
Last forever through time.
Moments where time stood still.
And there were only
You and I.
