You And I Poem by Cindy Sanchez

You And I

Rating: 3.5

Don't just stand there
talk
Give me attention
Look look
I'm trying just look
I'm trying
Don't ignore me
Look up
I'm right here
Why don't you see me
Can you move
Are you stuck
What's holding you back
Are you afraid
Do you want to speak to me
Will you
Are you deaf?
I want to tell you
But your not listening
Can you just hear me
I need to tell you
Its killing me
I'm trying not to get you here
Please tell me where you are
I'm not sure what you want
You can tell me
I'm not gonna say anything
I'm here
I just need to know if you're ok

Very well done! You put your reader right inside that girl's head- -remarkable job here! ! ! ! I felt her frustration as if it were my own! 10++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Sometimes the person you are with is really somewhere else in his own mind. A fascinating poem. Thanks for posting it, and welcome to Poem Hunter!

Disturbing/sounds like somebody dealing with an autistic person, somebody who does not connect in the moment to the specific person present/ somebody who is completely 'elsewhere' in their mind. Frustruating experience that can drive one crazy. Captured well in poetry. Still, tame for what the true levels of frustration might be.
