You And Me - Double Nonet Poem Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

You And Me - Double Nonet Poem

In the quiet of the night, they come
Once more in floods of memories
Thoughts unclouded by the years
That tears have failed to drown
Fresh as yesterday
A face my eyes
Embraced well
In mind...
You.
Me,
I am
Existing
Not forgetting
It all brings you near
A cherished love long gone
And with them are the longings
A gnawing pain in heart engraved
I have stopped asking the reason why.
