You Are Poem by Christine Sears

You Are

Rating: 3.8

broken and defeated
gasping for breath
body splayed out across the floor

exhausted I am

nails bloody from clawing away my own skin
hair ripped out in clumps
teeth cracked and yellow

hurt I am

coldly staring straight ahead
hot tears streaming down my face
curses erupting from my lungs

angry I am

laying on the ground with me
binding my wounds
singing me silent lullabies

present You are.
