And as you looked upon me,
I felt a sense of dread rise from within,
Fear of the unknown,
Knowing our time together, had reached its final destination.
A fear of death.
Remaining by your side, your eyes closed for the very last time,
And there was peace.
No more pain,
Life would never feel the same,
No man is immortal,
But your strength is my gain,
My courage to live on without you.
And my life will go on.
Until we meet again.
