You Live There And I Feel It Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

You Live There And I Feel It

I had nothing left.
Or so I thought.
And I sat remembering,
Who and what brought me joy.
I had to laugh.
That was still in my grasp.
It was you who shared my happiness.
When I had more of that!
Thinking it would forever last.
And when you passed...
I had nothing left.
Or so I thought.
And I sat remembering,
Who and what brought me joy.
You are that 'what'.
The 'who' that remains in my heart!
You live there.
And I feel it.
It's true,
You do!
