You Must Have Been Away - Poem by Ronald Strickland

Today I spoke of my love for you.
But you must have been away.

I talked of the stars and how they seem
to be so secure in the heavens
as my love for you.
But you must have been away.

I saw the lovely flowers that had bloomed
saying they bloomed like my love for you.
But you must have been away.

I wonder when we're together,
if you ever hear me say your my
world, because your always in a place,
and always gone away.

You may never know of my true love my dear,
you may listen but you never hear.

Your always gone away.
