You Needed Me Poem by Paul Sebastian

You Needed Me

My dearest beloved:

You prayed, waited for a friend
I prayed a friend God will send
Our prayers Most High heard
Miracle gave friendship's birth

Love searched, finally found
Souls sojourn home bound
Restlessness gone, now rest
Like birds warming in one nest

My eyes open to the unseen
Ears hear soulful songs you sing
My self-esteem you build so high
My joy complete, a tear I cry

Through life's storms I have sailed
Through tears, pains I bravely trailed
Stronger I come, yet soulfully empty
You came along to fill me completely

Stripped to nothing, left alone
Was put through hell, all forlorn
Bruised, lonely, a soul mate I quested
Heaven sent you, my lack compensated

You see my real worth, the real me
Speechless, awed, how you see beauty
You lift me high, put me on a pedestal
There, I lift my eyes, see a life blissful

Your only purpose is my happiness
Your life's a gift for my completeness
Heart, mind and soul, I give wholly
For you need me, I need you: hopelessly
