You’re Not A Fairytale But You Amaze Me Poem by Mark Heathcote

You’re Not A Fairytale But You Amaze Me

You shop around but love isn’t a Walmart basket
Yes, I know you’re not too proud
But you’ve got to raise your mark without asking
Above that monsoon, floodwater mark.

Look at your eyes bleeding like the sun
Girl you’re never setting you don’t amaze me
I want to be settled and feel your petals falling
Girl you’re not a fairytale but you amaze me.
