You shine like a star,
Gleaming fair and far,
Leading with your light,
Glowing in the night.
I ev'r remember you,
—the love in all you'd do,
Your constant words of grace,
Your kisses on my face.
The sweetness of your voice,
Ev'ry selfless choice,
Wisdom in your eyes,
Blue as summer skies.
If you were a glass,
Your depth of love would surpass,
So many in this world.
Your beauty unfurled,
Like a banner of white,
In the grey of ev'r night.
Thank you for ev'rything,
You did for the King.
You lived a great story,
Questing for His glory.
And though you are not here,
I always hold you near,
Ever in my heart,
Always in my mind,
You shine like a star.
For my dear mother,
Elizabeth Margaret Quagmire
