Your Shoes Poem by Katherine Perry

Your Shoes

Rating: 4.5

Please let me buy your shoes from you
Because you've been successful in everything
you do
And since i have bitten off more than i can
chew
Maybe i can become successful if i can just buy
your shoes

Please let me try on your shoes
For i have noticed you've always stood on solid
ground
Ever since you have been around
Oh how i would like to feel that too
So please let me try on your shoes

Please let me walk in your shoes
For i would like to go where you've been
Around the world once or twice
I've never been anywhere nice
And i'll bring them home
When i'm back from where i've roamed
Oh how i hope they're the right size

Please let me wear your shoes for awhile
For your life is going better than mine
Your wife hasn't left you
Your money problems are few
Please for awhile, let me wear your shoes

Please tell me where you got your shoes
For they seem to have been lucky for you this
year
You won the lottery last week
You were down, now your back on your feet
Please tell me, did you get your shoes here

Please come in and let me wash and mend your shoes
For they are all dirty and torn
And you may wash your feet
And then join me to eat
For have been living on the streets, you seem worn

Maybe if we choose to do for someone
Rather than wanting something from someone
All those things wanted from someone else's shoes
Could be our just reward from one good deed or two!
