In America Poem by Katherine Perry

In America

Rating: 4.5

In America, the birds are free to fly winter, spring, summer and fall
In America, there are homeless people that die without anybody knowing
them at all

In America, children play freely in the ocean's sand and you'll hear their laughter from far away
In America, there are children who often need a helping hand, so they too will have time to play

In America, there is freedom of speech to honor one's own opinion and view
In America, there are boundries that they now teach, and the people that speak out are few

In America, there's opportunity for fortune and fame, sometimes by just being at the right place at the right time
In America, sometimes the education and experiance are equaly the same, and now jobs are more difficult to find

In America, we sing the pledge of alligence to the flag of the united states of america, so momentarily we let freedom ring
In America, we now look more into luck and fate, and now a joke when you hear wedding bells ring

In America, we've lost our values to the material things, and let wordly issues be solved in court
In America, there's now no canary that sings, until we bring God back into port!

An objective look into the most powerful country on Earth, praising her greatest and warning against her shortcomings. A nice and well articulated poem written with insight. Lovely. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
