Wide awake I lay,
Thinking of all the roles I could play,
Turning on my hand a shapeless clay,
Life maps many routes I may,
...
I suck.
I have enough pencil cases for the rest of the world,
Notepads to cover the face of the Earth,
Pens for each and every finger and toe,
...
Membership cards seem to run out everywhere I go
Fully booked
Sold out
I never get the memo
...
Sometimes all I can do is not cry
Forget 'let live and fly'
I exist and get by
You see a smile masking a sigh
...
Take a walk with me,
By side me,
Shine down on me,
Through that silver street,
...
Can't find that sticker,
Smiley face.
To cover up the evidence
for a shattered soul.
...
Told me I was useless.
Worthless.
Lowest of the low.
Accused me of stealing,
...
Where is that angel I saw within?
Is she waiting by the horizon?
Bring her back I had trust in,
I vowed to take a moon walk with,
...
"Well done" I was told,
"Now why do they say you're stupid? " they joked.
Come home soon.
Me?
...
My optimism is melting into tears,
Taking forever to roll down my cheeks,
Fierce,
It's weighing me down,
...
It's not personal
Didn't mean to be rude
That smile meant ever so much more
More than I can ever explain
...
As the light is flicked to conclude a day,
the darkness engulfs all the efforts
to maintain a smile for the polite way,
We lose our senses, let 'em fly as it may

Wide Awake
Wide awake I lay,
Thinking of all the roles I could play,
Turning on my hand a shapeless clay,
Life maps many routes I may,
Though it all has prices to pay
And I'm wide awake,
Contemplating all the mistakes I made,
Whether to turn the page,
Because its fate
Or with shame the world I should face
As the sun sets,
Does it surely rest?
Or does it truly rise for another set?
Perhaps as my day ends,
I shall arrange the puzzle and shapes
Thank the lord for all the blessings and loving mates,
So I remain wide awake.
