You take away my freedom,
you restrict me of my rights,
you limit me by day
and lock up all my nights.
...
Darkness engulfed but now
has changed.
As the darkness without
never penetrating
...
They say;
behind every great man there is a great woman
I say;
...
Slash my corpse
with your noxious words.
Gash my essence
with your malevolent eyes.
...
Why is it that a poet
can only truly pronounce
their deepest,
thoughts, fears, feelings, emotions, reflections.
...
A beautiful contradiction
a perfect sin
a heavenly immorality
so wrongly right.
...
God gave his only son
and knew after this ultimate
revelation and sacrifice
that mankind would be changed
...
For my life has had enough calamities
And I have become a friend of despair.
I am set free among the dead at peace;
Those whom you remember no longer.
...
A solitary English rose
lost and neglected entangled by weeds
a speck of colour in the lost wasteland
fragrant, sensual,
...
I could write you a thousand words
but not one would be enough;
tell enough;
share enough-
...
You mix me
in a way i know is
wrong
a way that i've never been mixed before.
...
A spark of life
walking through the alley of death
Where the stars have dimmed
and the breeze daren't speak.
...
When the great eagle soars
And the mighty bear roars,
The dragon awakes from her sleep.
...
An old acquaintance came to stay
i could not make hime go away
I fought and fought with all my might
the more i fought the more he'd fight
...
I am back...for the few that noticed I had been on a sabbatical! ...This is my official page, there is another one that I opened but it deactivated and I cannot remove it so have transferred things to here...so please only contact me on this page. I will be gradually adding my poems back, plus adding some new ones -SG xo Some thoughts to soothe a poets soul! 'Imagination is more important than knowledge.' Albert Einstein 'Imagination is the eye of the soul.' Joseph Joubert 'The power of imagination makes us infinite.' John Muir 'But words are things, and a small dropp of ink Falling like dew upon a thought, produces That which makes thousands, perhaps millions, think.' Sir Aubrey De Vere 'I have spread my dreams beneath your feet. Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.' W.B. Yeats 'Reach high, for stars lie hidden in your soul. Dream deep, for every dream precedes the goal.' Pamela Vaull Starr)
Free Spirit
You take away my freedom,
you restrict me of my rights,
you limit me by day
and lock up all my nights.
You may have physically trapped me
but there's part of me still free;
soul, images, memories
you can't take what you can't see.
So when you think you look at me
you're looking at a wall
I might be in your presence
but i'm not present at all.
My spirit is silently soaring
over oceans, over seas,
to visit what's forbidden
banished by your keys.
And if you really knew me
you would know my soul is free;
old and wise and peaceful
and where it longs to be.
