Everything is silent.
Drift into the subconscious by the drum of the ticking clock.
Creep along into the darkness

The disappointment shatters across her face.
She can't hear anything except those words echoing through her head.
She sits motionless
Hoping if she waits long enought that the antonym of those words will snap her backt to reality.

He was a man of few words says the few short letters he's written her apologizing.
The silence brought death upon their love whispers the gentle breeze that rustles their curtains.
Making the only neutral sound between them.

The moon hides behind the clouds
And you hide within the shadows.
I can't see your face
But I know you're there.

Listening
The rhythmic crash of the water against my feet.
The cold rush willing all sensations to come alive
I close my eyes and soak in my world that surrounds me.

Slip into the darkness.
The light still trying to call you to it.
The sounds are more distant.
You can't tell what's real or what you've imagined.

Surrounded by friends makes joy fill the air.
The snow steadily drifting around us
Then begins falling thicker
Appearing to be a cloud that's creeping us along.

The sun kisses my face and makes the sand hot beneath me.
The ocean sings to me a lovely song
Making the laughter and love around me perfect.
There's no reason for sorrow here.

I do not care for maquerades.
The false expressions dancing around me
They appear to all be happy but what are their true emotions?
What actually lies behind the masks?

Running through the dasterdly part of town
Your heart pounding in your chest like it will beat out at any moment.
Sweat raining from your pores feels like thorns from a rose are exiting your body instead of the salty water that should be.
Wondering if your body has the endurance to outrun the beast whose sounds become more exacerbated with each step you take
