Thanks for your comment on my poem Valerie. I like your simple language and your sweet and sour smile, suits our age (although I think I am older than you - 80 years old already! - but as you write, with a joyfull soul!

Hello Val, Just to let you know that I have really enjoyed your poetry. Those that I have read
thus far are very captivating. Good poetry brings the reader to the dinner table and does
not leave them hungry. Thanks for satisfying the appetite.

val, if i did not know this was yours, i would swear it must be a famous work of Shakespeare. It really is a beautiful poem with a romantic tone difficult to duplicate. Well done. Dick

A naturally gifted and versatile poet; there is natural flow in whatever she writes. Every visit to her poetic pages is enlightening, satisfying and learning experience. Her poems have a transcendent quality and are quite often spell binding. As a poet she stands tall- head and shoulders above most others.
I wish more and more enrichment of her poetic vision.

Ode To A Lost Love

'Oh sweet breath of eternal life

Released from pain and worldly strife
The one I love is laid to rest'

Her flaxen hair, like golden corn,
Fell soft about her lifeless face
And round her shoulders to adorn
As limp she lay in death`s embrace

Still young, the bloom of youth today,
Her life had barely yet begun
But all too soon to fade away
No more to dance beneath the sun

No more to laugh in sweet delight
Nor skip through pastures wild and free
Nor hear the nightingales sing bright
In pure and perfect ...

The Rose

Calm the night and stilled the sea
Bathed in its tranquility
A fleeting glimpse of death`s repose
Gently stirred the sleeping rose

(But still too blind to understand
I let it wither in my hand)

The lifeless form fell to the earth
