High tide along the shores of time
The younger years are far behind.
The sandstone cliffs of old age do crumble
And eventually into the sea do tumble.
Storm warnings do the sirens wail
As high winds cause dark clouds to sail.
Cold drops of rain make their escape
To fall upon the gray landscape.
A mournful call comes from up high
Where one bird speeds across the sky,
In a hurry to someplace far away
Before lightening and thunder smash the day.
The beach has disappeared beneath the waves
A sign somewhere says Jesus saves
The souls of sinners from their graves -
Shipwrecks along the shores of time.
