Is silence golden where speech stays ashamed
to hold up to bright spotlight's piercing glare

O ne lonely life is offered knight or knave,
N o second chance is sent, though some would seek
B y bell, book, candle to sustain thread weak,
O r mask the blinding darkness of the grave.

Who with harsh strictures walls high ivory tower
seems as sad picture where fair dreams can't flower...
