Time goes by and yet we pray,
"Dear Lord don't take me today."
We know it passes and never ceases
And still we yell, "But I've got reasons! "
...
Today, you said I was the one
You felt my love and held me close
Told me I was who you needed most
...
This and that and then more too
Not one thing I can't do
Dishes, laundry, floors all mopped
Toilets, carpets, anywhere husband's flopped
...
Not Enough
Not sure what else I can do
To make you long for me as I long for you
...
Those That Bloom
Flowers know how to grow
where the sun neglects to show
...
Beauty never more so cursed
Than for a woman for which men thirst
...
Oh Ms. Faithful me,
why do I save myself for thee?
If God does truly exist
wouldn't he sympathize with my resists?
...
No one is good enough for you,
Not even the all glamorous Diana would do
At least that is how you've made me feel
That none can be worthy in grace or beyond you,
...
I wore a hint of purple lipstick today,
Not sure you noticed
As, you didn't say
...
Another sleepless night without you
Not sure what I'm supposed to do
Toss and turn throughout the night
Waiting for the morning light
...
Why would he work
with the rain pouring down,
splashing on his head
and streaming all around?
...
Sometimes I run and go nowhere
I look but can't see anything there
And yet, each person around me
Acts as though THEY can see
...
I had a dream of a little yellow bird that flew me to the sky,
Above the trees, past the clouds, soaring far too high.
I cried to the little yellow bird as its wings and heart beat fast,
"Why do we fly so high little bird when you know it can't last? "
...
Certainty
Time goes by and yet we pray,
"Dear Lord don't take me today."
We know it passes and never ceases
And still we yell, "But I've got reasons! "
Here we stand, hoping for joys
That passes to our young boys.
Not knowing that when it all ends,
We ourselves our only friends.
So I'll stand here all alone,
Alone, as time has always shown.
Lying is just another way of saying you don't cherish your mind enough to be honest.
