I feel that I have heard enough of talk of World strife
And what I need is joy and love and peace back in my life
And I must refrain from listening to the radio news and watching T.V.
For rumours of revenge and war is worrying to me.

He is serving three years for armed robbery but the mother says my son is not a crim
He is not the one who robbed the uptown drug store for someone else the cashier mistook him
My son has told me that he is not guilty and what he tells me I always believe
He is a kind, honest and loving person and does not use guns and is not known to deceive

The bird born in an aviary and raised in captivity
Can never live in Nature's World amongst the wild and free
Even the birds of it's own species will peck it till it die
So never allow your feathered pet the freedom of the sky.

In the quiet alleyway in the dim moonlight
Some mother's young daughter she died over-night
From a drug overdose friendless and alone
Found in a disused factory doorway cold and lifeless as a stone.

Oh Ireland Mother Ireland brave men for you have been shot
But are you worth one cup of human blood you most certainly are not
Your noble sons who fought for you by British guns were slain
But what value to a dead hero is worthless immortal name.

He may be a criminal and from the police on the run

The greatest friend mankind could wish to know
The food we eat out of her bosom grow
Her lakes, wells, streams and rivers our drinking supply
Without her waters we would quickly die.

The restless waves splash up white foam upon the rocky shore
But I feel a peace within me like I've seldom felt before
All alone with mother Nature in Inverloch by the sea
The world is so much quieter here and of any stress I'm free.

Those who say mankind will destroy Planet Earth believe in their own lie
The Earth will live though human kind their own selves may destroy
In a thousand centuries from now the birds will sing on the trees
Though humans may have been wiped out by some incurable disease.

A mother does not raise her child for to fight and die in war
Or to kill another Human Being in a Country from home far
That her son or her daughter should at someone else shoot to kill
A person they have never known or who have never bore them ill.

I heard on the news on the radio today
How a young woman died in a car smash on the Calder Highway
Unmarried in her early twenties they did not give her name
Or not say where she lived or from what town she came.

The Homo Sapiens who lived in caves on mountains
Of the success of their descendants could not have visualized
And even today the most intelligent species
At their achievements even seemed surprised.

The good mother does not raise her child to plunder and to kill
But to live as a good person live and never do others ill
And that her daughter and son be successful is every mother's dream
But not everything in life does go to plan at least that's how it does seem

Despite advanced medical technology people still age and die
And though people on an average live longer now one fact we can't deny
Is that the Reaper who claims every life will one day claim your's and mine
Each day we live we draw closer to our lives finish line.

He was buried with full military honours but the mother now grieves for her son
But now he is just one of the war dead and all is so quiet where he lay
In the family grave by the hillside he can't hear the birds welcome the day.

Her beauty all around us night and day
One could talk about her till the call of the reaper
So much of her to write of and to say.

A law written by Mother Nature that the strongest in their kingdom do rule
But amongst the creatures of Nature none are born to feel guilty of being cruel
For Nature's creatures kill for survival if they don't eat of hunger they will die
Those who say that birds and animals are cruel to each other are naive or preacing a lie,

Another huge earthquake in Indonesia at Nias at least a thousand dead
This time not followed by a Tsunamis and more uncertainty lay ahead
For poor people who have suffered far too much already in the most dangerous part of the Planet they live
Mother Nature she does as she pleases she takes back the lives she did give.

They may be very famous people and leave their footprints in the sands of time
And their legends may live on for centuries and even outlive the poet's rhyme
But their fame won't live on forever though them the masses celebrate
For every living thing barring Mother Nature has on it set a time date.

In her offspring there may be room for improvement
Their character by their behaviour may well be soiled
But against the put down words of others
The mother will defend her child.

I don't want to live for to be frail and old and kept alive by pills
And taking the most unnatural drugs for to combat my many ills

Too young as of yet for to worry about father time.

On Summer and Autumn the old paddocks brown and bare
And the buzzings of bush flies in the air near the small Countrytown
Now in the depths of Winter the paddocks looking green
But not even one bush fly is to be heard or seen

As people we did suffer under Saddam Hussein
And our so called allies overthrew him and he was hung yet what has been our gain?
They promised us peace and freedom and they only gave us pain
And long after they have left our shores death and suffering with us will remain.

The poets and the artists she always inspire
And of singing her praises could one ever tire
Amazing Mother Nature she keeps on keeping on
One cannot say of her that her better days are gone

I thank Mother Nature for this lovely day
The silver billed magpie in feathers of dark and gray
Is piping his tune so melodious and clear
He can be heard sing every day of the year

Such pleasure to me and to others she bring

Mother Nature lives on undiminished by time

She has a big bulge in her tummy plain for everyone to see
And for her child's sex she does not have a preference she will be happy with a he or a she
And she does not seem even certain of the father's identity
Though she knows that her unborn's biological father can be only one of three.

My God is Mother Nature of that why should I lie
And my remains will return to her when life's breath in me die
A bloke who lives across the street he talks and prays to his God in the sky
Though love thy newighbour it would seem to him does not apply.

A beautiful evening the sun's in the sky

And none can mistake the call of the pee wee

Feel grateful to our Earth mother for at least we should feel aware
That without her we could not exist of us she takes good care
We pollute her sky and waterways and remove trees from her land
Yet what we do to her to ourselves we do many of us don't seem to understand

The mother sticks up for her offspring to her young she is a true friend
Against the savagery of the lion pride the buffalo her calf does defend
Her love for her young no less than that of a human mother the mother and child the strongest bond of all
Of human and animal mums sacrificing their lives for their offsprings stories in plenty to recall.

The war it is over the battle is won
But the mother is left for to grieve for her son
For the rest of her life she will bear her sorrow cross
And victory in war won't ease her sense of loss

The artists and the writers she always does inspire
And of singing her praises the poets never tire
The Goddess of all Seasons Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall
Amazing Mother Nature the one who feeds us all.

We learn from her for as long as we live
And so much enjoyment to us she does give
Our wonder of her only does seem to grow
And the more we learn of her the less of her we know we know.

Apart from the Goddess of Nature he does not have a God
The one who loves birds and animals some see as odd
Whilst many others in church they are kneeling to pray
He is by the lake watching birds on sunday.

If you go by the Mayan and Hopi predictions life as we know it in the year 2012 will end
But I'm not one who can claim to be psychic so why should I even pretend
That on the 21st of December in 2012 some catastrophe will happen that will wipe out all of Humanity
If you want more light on this subject ask one more enlightened than me.

Those old brown hills will overlook the township and the birds will sing on bush and tree
And the roses will bloom in the Summer and the river will flow to the sea
And Mother Nature who has been around forever and who was there long before the birth of humanity
Her age in years cannot be numbered there is none as ancient as she.

I cannot help but feeling that the arrogance of man
Is in some way responsible for the earthquake that cost thousands of human lives in Iran
The doings of Mother Nature many well might say
But for tampering with her the price is huge to pay.
