0170 Love - Poem by Michael Shepherd

Hopes die;
dreams fall;
and, subtlest stroke of all,
love sharply, cruelly, hides her face,
lives lost within the mind a space;

until one day in presence new,
love - whose love was ever true -
leaves the cold, hard, hungry heart
and plays love's everlasting part;
and once again, the wiser we...
are wild and bold again
and fools again;
so, love

    Wonderful...I feel humbled reading such marvellous poetry. I am saving all your poems in My Favourite poems and have ordered 'Awakening to Myself' from Chapters. Also, the Ficino celebratory volume is indispensable - quite brilliant. Your biography is as fascinating as your poems... (Report) Reply
