041410n Coming Back To Present

a sudden splash took me back to present
i have two miles to go, duffle bag is getting
heavy, i must have loaded with rocks or some
i close the gate and continue to proceed
i look back one more time i saw chimes
still hanging by window waiting for breeze

i wave at my shadow friend and old house
a distinct creek came from rusted hinges
i'm hoping for a cat to come out or ghost
not today, it's wind from lonesome lake
i didn't notice there's an old man watching
from the fringes of the dirt road, standing
