041511j When Unexpected Poem by Manonton Dalan

041511j When Unexpected

box of green veggies in your hand
two bottles of water and sweet gum
waiting patiently in a very long line
your cellphone is ringing; can't reach
that will wait; maybe mean to forget
starving is that feeling crawling into

pain transmitting from toe to foot
throbbing to uncomfortable state
not only you my dear but next you
finally you have your turn; no change
credit card won't work; what a day
a gentleman offers you; you lucky
