why now when rain falling
roof dripping, road flooding
tornado threatening, scary
last, gouges edges of county
i must stay home just in case
if you don’t mine this please
i saw his smile and concern
a fear we have to move fast
lakeshore is still high above
water that is slowly swelling
i calm him down to point of
he‘s quiet and sipping tea
