050510l What Am I Thinking - Poem by Manonton Dalan

i noticed a faucet dripping on wharf
could be winter prevention from crack
it is warm now like my beating heart
i reach in to shut it off somebody should
have done this long time ago; waste
of my tax dollars; maybe not; birds

it is broke i can't close it all the way
there's enough drip for birds' drinks
i reach my pocket for sweets; hershey
dove to be exact; roll beneath my tongue
like kissing passionately no bounds
i must have smiled, lady said; 'hi! '
