twin front tooth and a paddle tail
carving trunk of a tree endlessly
until it falls across damming river
gathering sticks from forest floor
neatly installed against fallen log
raising water table for sanctuary
that's beaver a nature's engineer
recently in canada has discovered
worlds biggest beaver dam in alberta
so big you could see from satellite
it is said to be an old colony from '70's
hoping hunters won't wander that way

yahoo news. jean thie discovered it
in 2007 while researching permafrost.
