shoots of grass too short from surface
digging hooves can be heard relentless
their hope to have something to nibble
bony ribs looks like curling bare fingers
against a hot rock pounded by sun rays
sweat won't be visible to my weary eyes
lone acacia tree a welcoming cool shed
thick leaves so generous of their shadow
i could pick those for my herds' food supply
i remember there's a water chamber behind
those large boulders skirting the riverbanks
i can't be mistaken i can feel it like your love
