061111e Still Ascending

halfway we found abandon cottage
only post remain and pieces of wood
we gather firewood to start a bonfire
we warm pork and beans; boiled eggs
find comfort to massage my aching legs
unfurl my sleeping bag to camp for night

soil so abrasive put holes on my shoes
my face aches so as my arms; frostbite
i put lotion to ease pain; i didn't complain
could be i'm so tired i fall asleep so easy
i was awakened by screams of ecstasy
pointing crimson sun, magnificent beauty

***
we are at halfway to the top of
mt fuji with three friends from
texas(2) and california. we took
gotemba trail.
