2000 Years Later Part Two Poem by louis rams

2000 Years Later Part Two

2000 years later part two

Two thousand years ago he walked this earth
The world has changed since his birth.
No more crucifiction to be found
No one stoned to the ground.
No more nations under slavery
That's the way it used to be
No more gladiators fighting to the death
While people sat in the arena placing their bets.
No more working from dawn to dusk
If you wanted to eat - it was a must
No more gravel roads to bother your feet
As you walked in the scorching heat.
In 2000 years many things have changed
And many things have stayed the same.
We still have human slavery and abuse
And trying to change it seems of no use.
We have cars, trains, planes and such
Computer screens that respond to touch.
We have cell phones that do most everything
And the world news to you it will bring.
Yet with all the technology there is
One thing will always stay, and that's when
You get on your knees and pray.
The belief in GOD and the strength in prayer
Is something that we all can share.
