2018 Poem by Ruta Mohapatra

2018

I came, I saw, I passed
On my way to eternity

I was a sand particle in the sands of time
A single dot on the graph of time

A little ripple on the ocean of time
You will never find me ever again

A bubble burst, gone forever
I left you standing on the shores

I am no different from the years gone by
And yet so different in so many ways

In my velvety cape I have carefully wrapped,
In a time capsule, my most favored find

A sparkling jewel
