.5. Muddy Lot Poem by David Threadgold

.5. Muddy Lot

Rating: 5.0

Spit and polish dust and scrub
Throw your kit bag in the tub
All within very dirty
Even some a little shirty

Fill with water then with soap
Can we clean it we can hope?
Make it hotter if you’d rather
Get a better soapy lather

In the tub needs a posher
Nothing fancy like a washer
Elbow grease in vast amount
Up and down I dare not count

Even faster lather thick
Stinking kit bag makes me sick
Hard to tell if we might win
Will it end up in the bin?

Final push the washboards out
Kits well scrubbed without a doubt
Where once dirt, covered white
Football kit’s now clean and bright
