Prices rising constant spending
Things we bought were never ending
Overspent now money lending
Loans we took are now extending
Interest rates we thought were set
Climbing faster than a jet
Moving ever higher yet
Sinking deeper into debt
Letters through the box are falling
Creditors on phones are calling
Saying things we find appalling
Accusing us of payment stalling
In our madness we were willing
Signed their forms they started billing
Salesmen made their firms a killing
We can’t pay and thoughts are chilling
The money game we tried to play
We always thought that we could pay
The bailiffs called again today
And all we owned they took away
