559. No One Is Safe In Their Dreams Poem by Jaden Knight

559. No One Is Safe In Their Dreams

Rating: 2.5

'We are safest in our dreams'
a huge lie I was once told as a child
'they wrap us up in a reassuring blanket
keeping us safe from harm'

Now I have grown I have discovered the truth
that if anything we are in more danger
as our spirits wonder the dream world freely
vulnerable and unprotected

Demons lurk in the shadows on this plane
waiting to catch blissfully unaware minds
torturing them with the darkest visions
occasionally carrying them off with them
into the abyss that they call their home

Before you go to bed a word of warning
always be alert when you sleep
potential nightmares and worse
await the unwary who ignore the truth
no one is safe in their dreams

Wow yes so true, I feel highly unsafe in dreams, anything the worst can happen, nightmares can be real torture. Enjoyed your fabulous darkish musing poem in great freeverse style. Kudos for how u express here. So Nice to read from your pen again, I hope u too will review my latest poem titled, 'For all cheese chums'
