.6. Mis-Match Poem by David Threadgold

.6. Mis-Match

Rating: 4.5

I scraped off the paper
Then filled all the holes
Cut twenty lengths
Off the four open rolls

I mixed up the paste
Very slowly not quick
To get the right mixture
Not to thin or thick

I looked for my scissors
Plus large pasting brush
The paste-table stuck
Till I gave it a push

I started to paste
Then I folded each sheet
Stacked six at a time
On a pile very neat

I levelled the first sheet
And offered to top
Smoothed out all the bubbles
Full length of the dropp

I went for the second
Oh horror a catch
Having cut twenty lengths
I’d forgotten to match
