9/11- An Unforgettable Day In Usa

What a merciless day it was.
so unforgettable and so distressing
as fate fell asunder
and safety was on plunder
as one by one the world trade tower buildings
came crashing down like a pack of cards
though they were huge skyscrapers;
and some apartments in there
looked like a burning inferno;
while some apartments in a matter of moments
under the debris perished.

And on that fatal day,
many many innocent people
lost their lives in just a few hours,
all at different places
but by one situation called terror;
and that was the only time
America and Americans
remained wide awake
with fear, with worry,
with anguish and with anxiety
so unfathomable
that none could imagine
what was coming next
or who would live and survive
or who would be the next victim;
or who would die collectively
in the next explosion.

And as phone calls kept ringing,
relatives kept calling relatives
friends kept calling friends
asking if they were alive;
some kept calling from the aeroplanes
that were going to crash,
they wanted to bid final Adieu to their families;
and as those planes plunged deliberately
into buildings at unbelievable speed
at heights and locations so bewildering,
all knew terror had culminated
into a rampage of rage
and everybody kept guessing where next,
everybody kept anticipating more tragedies.

O' how the greatest nation on earth dreaded
that day 9/11 of 2001
that no page in history will ever want to speak
or relate of it or of that awesome fate
a mighty nation had to face
so unexpectedly, so unknowingly
that today America recollects the memories
of that fatal day which are so unforgettable;
even the world must keep open its eyes and ears
to the fact that man made catastrophes
like 9/11 are not easy to forget
as merciless were those hours
when frantic voices kept crying, calling,
shouting for help
and no one could save them
or reach out to them to help them survive.

And as no war will ever be able to avenge that affliction,
and as no medicine will ever be able to cure that anguish
and as no time will ever be able to heal those wounds
on those hearts that still grieve and silently weep,
many years will still keep passing by
yet the memory of 9/11 will never vanish
from the minds of the American people
as that was the day their greatest nation
stood so helplessly and watched their country,
their people facing inevitable tragedies.

So merciless was that fateful day
when many eyes glimpsed and immersed in tears
to see friends and loved ones dis-integrate into
balls of fire and smoke which was so pitiful
and beyond human visualization
that today no words nor sympathies can compensate
that mother who wept silently for her child all night
that husband or wife who silently missed his or her love
that child who missed his dad or mom as he grew up
as those twenty long years without each other
was not an easy time to pass
nor could they refrain from the recollection of that day
without the feelings of painfulness in their hearts.
