A Beautiful White Witch And A Secret Lemonade Drinker Poem by Shaun Cronick

A Beautiful White Witch And A Secret Lemonade Drinker

Rating: 5.0

What's that noise I can hear downstairs,
My senses are now are all a'twitching.
Burglars perhaps, even mice or rats,
Then a loud burp from my small kitchen.

Armed with only my wits and courage,
I venture stoically quickly downstairs.
Hearing greedy gulping as I draw nearer,
I'll grab the cheeky blighter unawares.

I turn on the light and it now reveals,
A wee, small pixie with a face of total surprise.
Who says he will pay for what he consumes,
Cursed to drink lemonade if not his sad demise.

Well my little pixie friend,
That's quite a thirst you've got.
You've drunk four bottles full,
In fact you've polished off the lot.

But I have two bottles in the fridge,
That will help satisfy your thirst.
Now I need to use my telephone,
And get someone to lift your curse.

I frenetically flick through my Yellow Pages,
Eventually rewarded finding the one I seek.
A 24 hour white witch with free call-out charges,
The only one listed an enchanter called Angelique.

I explain my new pixie friend's predicament,
And her sexy voice says this happens quite a lot.
Always its helpless pixie's who are picked on,
Then she materialises before me on the spot.

Wow!
What a beauty to behold and our eyes meet,
She smiles and gently whispers a magic charm.
And the little guy's curse is finally broken,
No need for lemonade and no cause for any alarm.

And now the curse has been magically lifted,
We all cheerfully raise a glass to celebrate.
Not lemonade but fine Bollinger champagne,
And I gaze at Angelique as if it was fate.

That year I happily ended up marrying her,
The lemonade pixie was my best man.
And this happy day shared by one and all
Was the wishful conclusion of her plan.

A plan so many long years in the making,
By Angelique who so admired me from afar.
Confessed by her before we married, who,
Was gifted a wish from Love's bright star.
