A Bit Of Zen Wisdom For Men Out There

A bit of zen wisdom for men out there
-Gayathri B. Seetharam
It is said that a poor man with prospects,
Spurned gently is going to nurse a grudge
And "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned"
But I say, have more faith in the goodness of mankind and womankind;

This trusting attitude may have led me astray a few times
For my sanguine"ness" that has its roots in optimism
Becomes beautiful and sensuous women for
Under the cloak of feminine feminism
We may have been silently accused of thinking we are too good for the likes of our admirers;

I feel compelled to issue an apology
To all those men who thought the world of me
And I say that they are and were gallant and eligible men
But being a faithful woman, I can only love a few
Besides, my husband whom I fell in love with at first sight
Shared my dream of a feminine feminist being his wife;

I shall raise a silent toast this evening with my glass of wine or cocktail:
Here's to all those dashing men who were full of ken
And who sparked an interest in me
But I was despite my brazen boldness in some ways
Innocent of the ways of the world
But there is one thing that is akin to the Bhagavad Gita or the Gospel truth or one of the Ten Commandments or the sayings of the Quran,
And that is that I had rollicking good times.
