A Branulogist Poem by Daya Nandan

A Branulogist is a rank given to the truly skilled,
Who can set any Intravenous Cannula before the patient is killed,
They save the day with a simple yet essential skill,
That can save the lives of the injured and ill,

A Branulogist is needed when the veins are too difficult to get,
When even with ultrasound machines the Iv lines are hard to set,
There are so many situations where these legends are needed,
There are so many in need of the skills of the gifted,

The patients undergoing CPR in need of adrenaline to be revived,
The patients in hypovolemic shock that are blood/ fluid deprived,
Immediate blood transfusions and the need to star inotropes,
The need for drugs to intubate before the patient's pulse drops,

To become a branulogist takes a lot of effort, practice and skill,
Patience to deal with difficult patients that cannot stay still,
It makes no difference if you are doctor, MA or nurse,
A Branulogist is always needed in the medical universe!
