Please, let me live, give me a chance
of life on Earth to have a glance,
Let me grow roots and let me shine
on this blue planet in decline.
When I was born into this Light
you all blessed me with great delight,
you all were filled with greedy thoughts:
'Our child will have money loads'!
You ripped this planet with blind eyes
you cut its trees, darkened its skies,
you killed the life to which you're bound
searching for money all around.
Mothers and fathers please, redeem!
Listen to your children scream!
Life is a gift to receive once.
Do not destroy fragile balance!
I need not money to sleep tight,
to have fresh air and starry night,
serene to listen to birds' song,
to feel that here I do belong!
Please let me live, let me grow old!
Stop searching for leprechaun's gold!
Stop your greed, your badness, lust,
for me to have in Future trust.
For me to see the moon, the sun,
with birds and flowers to have fun,
for me to see a heaven blue,
to grow old kind, and good, and true.
Protect me from your evil deeds!
Stop lying! You don't know my needs.
Do you want me to show you how?
For me, please, save the Planet now!
Beautiful poem Maria Thank you for sharing Mario Odekerken
Thank you with all my heart and my inner child's prayers...I wish I could do more for our children future, for our planet, for humankind but, alas, all I have is poetry...
Good post. It could be accepted as the prayer song of any Nursery school...... Reality shows us every day on the globe children have been dying by war- involved seniors, killing brutally in north south east west on the surface. Whether it is in Syria or Myanmmar (Burma) . Know not where is the authority to whom these prayer couldl touch to make our globe a home for human child.
Thank you for all your kind thoughts, true to the heart...Indeed, life on our planet is threatened by none other than humans and our children might not stand a chance for a peaceful future if we do not stop walking the path of destruction...In my humble way I try to stand up for Future's rights...

I would like to translate this poem
When the APOLLO 8 astronauts photographed earth from space, it was the first time in our history of three million years that we humans saw our home whole, beautiful and fragile. That picture was a thing of grace and it should have changed our history. Aren't we HOMO SAPIENS? Why aren't we smarter? Why aren't we crazy in love with earth? Why does your child speaker display the intelligence and love the adults who run things have forgotten? I thank the Goddess Earth for the child and the poet. Excelsior!
Yes, dearest Daniel, that is the question: WHY? Maybe because the child in me feels the cry for help, for a peaceful Future, for Life of all children of this wonderful planet, born and not born yet...Maybe because I myself seek shelter from the fear of having to witness the end of our civilization, of humankind...Thank you for your heartwarming thoughts.
